Memory & Dementia
Dementia is one of the biggest challenges to Western health. By 2021, there will almost be 1 million people in the UK with dementia. Currently, there are around 700,000 people over 65 and 15,000 under 65 living with dementia in the UK. The majority of these have Alzheimer Dementia with fronto-temporal dementia, Lewy body dementia and vascular dementia making up much of the other cases.
I have run memory clinics in Nottingham and Derby for over a decade and am Neurology lead to the Working Age Dementia service at Nottinghamshire.
I have extensive experience of the latest diagnostic and treatment options in dementia and work at the forefront of research in dementia.
Many people who are worried about their memory will not have dementia. Early diagnosis and intervention with treatment is the key to doing well long term if you have dementia.
